What is ALTIN?
We are not a jeweler, a bank or a broker: we do not trade, set prices or give investment advice. We only show prices from the data sources we have access to, together with where they come from and when they were updated.
Why is it free?
Looking at prices needs no account and no payment; that is ALTIN's core principle. The watchlist, portfolio and alerts also work on this device without an account. An account is only for syncing them across devices and getting email notifications.
Where do the prices come from?
Every price shows its source's public name. We don't name brands; we say where and how the data arrives. What these names mean:

| Live — Free Market | Buy and sell prices for gold and currencies on Türkiye's free market, arriving within seconds from a commercial data feed. A jeweler's or bank's price may differ slightly by seller. |
| Exchange Office — Cash | Exchange offices' cash buy and sell rates. The cash rate usually differs from the market rate; the converter uses the buy or sell side of the transaction you choose. |
| CBRT Reference (TCMB) | The indicative rates the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye publishes every business day, and its monthly gold reference series. An official reference, not a live trading price. |
| CBRT Effective (banknote) · Reference | The effective (banknote) buying and selling rates the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye announces in the same daily bulletin as its currency rates. An official reference, not an exchange office's cash price, and always shown apart from the currency rates. |
| ECB Reference | For currencies without a live rate: rates based on central-bank reference rates, updated once a day. |
| Calculated Value | A value we calculate from other prices; for example theoretical gram gold = gold ounce × dollar rate ÷ 31.1035. Not a market price; it is for comparison. |
| Crypto Market (TR) | Live TRY prices formed on a crypto market in Türkiye (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether). |
| Crypto Market | Live prices on an international crypto market. |
| Crypto Registry Data | International market data for hundreds of cryptocurrencies, collected a few minutes delayed. |
| Tether Rate — Iran Free Market | Iranian toman only: the price on Iran's Tether (USDT) market, crossed with the USDT/TRY rate in Türkiye and shown in toman. It is neither the dollar rate nor Iran's official rate. |
If you see a “DEMO DATA” badge next to a price, that value is not real; it only appears when no data source is connected.
Live, Delayed, Reference, Calculated
Every price also shows its data type:
- Live
- Streamed from the source, arriving within seconds.
- Delayed
- The source publishes with a fixed delay; the time is always shown next to it.
- Reference
- An official or periodic publication (for example the CBRT's daily rate); not a tradable live price.
- Calculated
- A value we derive from other prices by formula; the formula is stated next to it.
When a source goes quiet
We keep showing the last valid price with its time and mark it “stale”. We never hide the price, leave it blank or make one up.
