Editorial Principles

How ALTIN prepares its prices, guides and automated texts, how they are checked, and how an error is corrected once it is found.

Prices

Every price carries three facts beside it: the public name of its source, its data type (Live, Delayed, Reference or Calculated) and its timestamp. A price whose source has stopped is never hidden; it is marked “not current”. No price is ever invented or filled with zero. What each source name means is explained on the About us page; the update and calculation rules on the Data Methodology page.

Source names

Price rows name a source by what it is and how its data arrives (for example “Free Market”, “Exchange Office”), never by a data vendor's trade name. Official institutions, such as the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye, appear under their own names.

Guides and news

Guides and news give facts: no investment advice, no price forecasts, no buy or sell prompts. A guide is not published before its figures have been checked against official sources (for example the Central Bank, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, the Official Gazette).

In the Currency Guide, every statement resting on a statute or an official rate is shown with its source and the date it was last checked; a dated fact last checked more than 180 days ago leaves the page until it is checked again.

Content is prepared by the ALTIN editorial desk. When a named person writes or reviews a piece, their name and role appear at its top.

Automated texts

Automated texts such as the Daily Brief and the share cards consist of fixed template sentences: they are not written by generative AI and contain no predictions. Every figure comes from our own data pipeline and is shown with its source and time.

Independence

We are not a jeweler, a bank, an exchange office or a broker: we do not trade, set prices or take a commission on any transaction. Source comparisons only order factual values. Should sponsored content ever appear, it is labeled “Sponsored” and never affects any ranking.

Reporting an error

If you see an error in a price, a calculation or a text, tell us on which page and when you saw it, through the channels on the Contact page. We correct every error we can confirm.

Corrections

When we correct an error that changed the meaning of a published piece, we list the correction here with its date. Typos and formatting fixes are not listed.
