Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a new and an old quarter coin?
It is a minting-period distinction (by presidential era); the gold content is the same. New and old mintings are priced separately in the market; the gap comes from the minting year and demand.
How is the quarter coin price derived from the gram price?
The 1.654 grams of fine gold inside is multiplied by the gram price, and a workmanship fee (işçilik) plus a minted-coin margin is added. That is why a quarter costs somewhat more per gram than bar alternatives.
Why am I offered a lower price when cashing in?
The buy–sell spread and the workmanship fee cannot be recovered at the moment you sell; the jeweler trades at the buy price. Choosing a seller with a narrow spread reduces the difference.
